POLICY STATEMENT

Ecoserve Cleaning Ltd recognises and embraces the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the duty it places on medium and large organisations to disclose publicly the steps they are taking to prevent modern slavery within the business and their supply chains. Ecoserve Cleaning has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and is dedicated to improve its practices by acting ethically and with integrity to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking does not exist anywhere within the organisation or is in anyway connected with the business.

Since 2012 Ecoserve Cleaning Ltd has built a reputation as one of the most professional and reliable contract cleaning companies in London. Our company was established to serve clients in both the public and private sector with the objectives being to engage effectively & responsibly in the Cleaning & Support Services Industry by seeking to provide a better level of performance than our competitors. Quality of service and the commitment of the directors and staff have ensured that the company’s customer retention rate is the highest in the industry.

OUR SUPPLY CHAINS

Our suppliers provide cleaning materials, cleaning equipment and uniforms. Our expectations are that the factories producing the goods to our suppliers must ensure that employment is freely chosen, child labour is not used, and no harsh or inhumane treatment will occur. Our suppliers’ factories are required to ensure that all workers retain passports, ID Cards, and similar documents to facilitate their unhindered freedom of movement.

OUR POLICIES ON SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING

We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. Our Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our business and in our supply chains.

DUE DILIGENCE PROCESSES FOR SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Ecoserve Cleaning has clear policies and monitoring in place combined with a comprehensive approach to supply chain management. We update these policies and practices regularly as we learn from our experience.

We have implemented extensive training and awareness programmes to ensure that both our people and our suppliers clearly understand the issues, our required standards and their obligations and responsibilities. We also have systems in place to encourage the reporting of concerns and the protection of whistle blowers.

SUPPLIER ADHERENCE TO OUR VALUES AND ETHICS

We have zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking. To ensure all those in our supply chain and contractors comply with our values we operate in line with principles of responsible sourcing, including paying employees at the prevailing minimum wage applicable within their relevant country of operations, we expect suppliers to adhere to these standards or higher.

TRAINING

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our business, in our supply chains and in our business partners, we provide relevant in-house training to our colleagues. Under our Supplier Code of Conduct we also require our business partners to provide regular and relevant training to their staff and suppliers and providers.

COVID-19

We understand that some workers may be more vulnerable to modern slavery during the coronavirus pandemic. The Group adopted government guidelines for Covid-19 secure workplaces and paying statutory sick pay to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Our employees have been and continue to have access to our grievance procedures.

OUR EFFECTIVENESS IN COMBATING SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING

We use the following key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure how effective we have been to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any part of our business or supply chains:

• Completion of audits by Area Managers, Operations Directors, and the Human Resource Manager;

• Use of staff monitoring and payroll systems; and

• Level of communication and personal contact with next link in the supply chain and their understanding of, and compliance with, our expectations.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the current financial year.
